Cybersecurity Engineer

 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and update comprehensive Information Flow diagrams to reflect evolving network architectures and data flows.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to stay informed about emerging risks, technological advancements, and environmental changes impacting cybersecurity. 
  • Research and analyze cybersecurity trends and threats, recommending and implementing strategic improvements.
  • Investigate security incidents, participate in breach management, and contribute to continuous improvement of incident response strategies. 
  • Prepare and maintain security documentation, ensuring findings and actions are tracked, resolved, and improvements are sustainable. 
  • Evaluate and optimize security controls, including configurations, patches, and compensating controls across various platforms and devices. 
  • Lead vulnerability management initiatives, including system hardening, patch management, penetration testing, threat hunting, and comprehensive reporting. 
  • Conduct software security reviews, advising on and implementing robust security solutions.
  • Enhance Endpoint Security, Network Security, and Security Monitoring practices in collaboration with IT and external service providers. 
  • Validate IT devices' compliance through rigorous testing, implementation, maintenance, and upgrading processes. 
  • Engage in Incident Response planning and simulation exercises. 
  • Recommend and implement advanced security solutions to improve the organization's overall security. 
  • Utilize security event management tools to monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents.
  • Conduct threat management and modeling, identifying potential threat vectors and developing security monitoring use cases.
  • Compile and analyze security-related statistical data for management reporting. 
  • Undertake Forensic and E-Discovery tasks, liaising with relevant stakeholders. 
  • Configure and manage technical security tools to mitigate vulnerabilities and enhance security.
  • Perform other technical-related cybersecurity duties as assigned.  
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems and their security aspects.
  • Expertise in a wide range of security products, including modern solutions like cloud security, Zero Trust architectures, advanced threat protection, and AI-driven security analytics.
  • Deep understanding of Incident Response, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and Breach Management.
  • Knowledge of information systems engineering, secure software development, network security, and security operations.
  • Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as PCI DSS, ISO Standards, ITIL, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CCPA, CPRA, and GDPR. 
  • Ability to review and create security procedures and requirements. 
  • In-depth knowledge of industry frameworks like ISO 27000, NIST 800-53, ITIL Foundation, and NIST Cybersecurity. 
  • Strong grasp of regulatory compliance requirements, including PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of security risks and countermeasures for Windows and Linux platforms. 
  • Project management skills and coordination capabilities. 
  • Familiarity with security hardware and software applications. 
  • Experience in Public Transportation or Transit Industries is preferred.systems/devices.

Compensation: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
